Two-Hour Warning Strike Planned at EAC on Friday

Employees of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) have announced a two-hour warning strike for Friday, February 27th, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This mobilization is a reaction to the management of the energy sector and the outstanding labor issues of the Organization. The trade union organizations report electricity shortages, rising costs, disconnection of photovoltaic systems, and water supply problems, which they attribute to a lack of strategic planning. They also express disagreement with statements about "cheap electricity," which they characterize as misleading. The employees argue that the situation is short-circuiting the operation of the EAC, limiting its ability to respond to rising costs and increasing the risk of problems in the system. At the same time, many labor issues remain unresolved, affecting the efficiency of the Organization.
