Justice Minister Directs Police to Increase Street Presence

The Minister of Justice and Public Order, Constantinos Fytiris, announced a series of directives to the Police, emphasizing the strengthening of citizen safety. The Minister visited the Police Directorates of Famagusta and Larnaca, as well as the Air Operations Unit, with the aim of direct contact with police officers and recording their problems. The visit is part of a broader program of visits to various police services, with the aim of improving working conditions and more effectively tackling crime. The Minister stressed that the public's message for safety is being taken very seriously by the state. The directives from Minister Fytiris focus on increasing the visible police presence on the streets and in neighborhoods, through patrols, checks and targeted operations. Particular emphasis is placed on preventative policing, especially in areas considered high-risk. The goal is to prevent criminal acts before they occur and to effectively address all forms of delinquency. The Minister emphasized that the state will not back down in protecting citizens and preventing crime, ensuring that citizens feel safe in their daily lives.
