Yannis Laouri (candidate MP): Direct Democracy Doesn't Belong to Left or Right

Yannis Laouri, a parliamentary candidate with Direct Democracy, stated that the party does not fit into the traditional ideological map, but seeks to shape its positions based on the problems facing society. The party's philosophy draws inspiration from the direct participation of citizens, as in Ancient Athens. Mr. Laouri mentioned that the party's positions will be formed based on addressing real problems, such as high prices, and will concern areas such as the economy, energy, and water. The goal is to submit changes with a lasting character, beyond quick fixes. The party is in favor of alliances where necessary and will cooperate with any party to promote specific policies. He acknowledged that there are different ideological starting points within the movement, but the challenge is to synthesize these approaches. Mr. Laouri clarified that he does not wish to be a candidate for the presidency of the party, but there are other interested parties, besides Fydias Panagiotou. The party has a statute, which has been published on social media.
