Ο άντρας λιβανέζικης καταγωγής που συνελήφθη στο αεροδρόμιο της Λάρνακας την Παρασκευή, κατηγορείται για λαθρεμπόριο όπλων για λογαριασμό της Χαμάς, σύμφωνα με τα όσα μεταδίδουν γερμανικά ΜΜΕ.
Ο Κάμελ Μ. συνελήφθη την Παρασκευή, μετά από ευρωπαϊκό ένταλμα από Κύπριους αστυνομικούς.
Την Κυριακή, γερμανικές αρχές πραγματοποίησαν έρευνα σε διαμέρισμα του στο Βερολίνο. Σύμφωνα με την εισαγγελία, κατηγορείται ως μέλος τρομοκρατικής οργάνωσης, ενώ τον Αύγουστο του 2025 παρέδωσε 300 σφαίρες σε συνεργό του, τον Μοχάμεντ Σ. που και αυτός κατηγορείται ως μέλος της Χαμάς.
Για την υπόθεση έχουν συλληφθεί συνολικά σε Γερμανία και Ευρώπη επτά άτομα (έξι στη Γερμανία και ένα στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο) και σύμφωνα με τις κατηγορίες προμηθεύονταν όπλα και πυρομαχικά ώστε να πραγματοποιηθούν τρομοκρατικές επιθέσεις σε ισραηλινούς και εβραϊκούς στόχους σε Γερμανία και αλλού.
Ο Κάμελ Μ. αναμένεται πως θα εκδοθεί στη Γερμανία, όπου και πρέπει να παρουσιαστεί στον ομοσπονδιακό δικαστή, που είναι και ο επικεφαλής των ερευνών.
Σύμφωνα με τα γερμανικά ΜΜΕ, η διαδικασία αυτή μπορεί να διαρκέσει εβδομάδες ή και μήνες.
