NATO SG: We know that Iran, Russia, N. Korea and China are cooperating

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated that Iran must not acquire a nuclear weapon and that NATO recognizes the threat posed by its missile program. He emphasized that the US is working to reduce Iran's nuclear and missile capabilities, while referring to the range of Iranian missiles and the attack on Diego Garcia base. Rutte mentioned that NATO has a clear position against Iran and that Iran's possession of nuclear or missile capabilities poses a threat to the region and Europe. He also highlighted the cooperation between Iran, Russia, North Korea and China, with Iran supplying basic equipment to Russia for the war in Ukraine. He acknowledged US frustration with the delay in the European response to their call regarding the Strait of Hormuz, but stressed that more than 30 countries have now committed to discussing the issue. Finally, he referred to the interception of Iranian missiles launched towards Turkey, emphasizing NATO's commitment to defending the territory of its members.
