Union: Personal Contracts are 'Gangrene' - 67% Increase in Temporary Workers

SEK (Cyprus Public Employees' Union) highlights the rapid increase in employment through personal contracts in Cyprus, reaching 67% in 33 months. It considers this a 'gangrene' for the labor market and insists on the immediate implementation of the 'Ergani 2' system to record employees and prevent exploitation and undeclared work. The union estimates that losses to the Social Insurance Fund from illegal or under-the-table employment amount to €10 million annually. The implementation of 'Ergani 2' will help better manage the labor market, protect workers, and enhance transparency.
