Olgin Sees President and T/C Leader Separately

The Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Cyprus, Maria Angela Olgin, is in Cyprus to meet with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhurman, with the aim of restarting talks on the Cyprus issue. Ms. Olgin has already met with the negotiators of the two communities and has scheduled separate meetings with the two leaders today. A joint meeting with Ms. Olgin is scheduled for January 28th, as a continuation of the previous meeting on December 11, 2025. President Christodoulides expressed his desire for a comprehensive conference to be convened, which would lead to the official announcement of the resumption of substantial negotiations. Ms. Olgin is expected to remain in Cyprus until January 29th.
