Συναγερμός σήμανε στην Ιταλία την Τρίτη (30/12) μετά από ατύχημα σε τελεφερίκ σε βουνό στα βορειοδυτικά της χώρας, με αποτέλεσμα να τραυματιστούν τέσσερα άτομα και να χρειαστεί ο απεγκλωβισμός ακόμη 100.
Το ατύχημα σημειώθηκε όταν δύο καμπίνες συγκρούστηκαν με τον άνω και τον κάτω σταθμό της εγκατάστασης, η οποία βρίσκεται κοντά στο χωριό Μακουγκνάγκα στην περιοχή του Πιεμόντε, όπως ανακοίνωσε η ιταλική πυροσβεστική υπηρεσία.
Τρεις επιβάτες που βρισκόταν στην πιο πάνω καμπίνα τραυματίστηκαν, μαζί με τον χειριστή του τελεφερίκ. Σύμφωνα, ωστόσο, με ιταλικά μέσα ενημέρωσης έξι άτομα χρειάστηκαν ιατρική περίθαλψη.

Ο διευθύνων σύμβουλος της εταιρείας διαχείρισης τελεφερίκ «Macugnaga Trasporti e Servizi» Φιλίπι Μπεσότζι, δήλωσε στο πρακτορείο ειδήσεων ANSA ότι μία από τις καμπίνες προφανώς δεν κατάφερε να επιβραδύνει όπως αναμενόταν και χτύπησε σε ένα φράγμα του σταθμού.

Να σημειωθεί ότι, στο τελεφερίκ μία ομάδα περίπου 100 ατόμων, στην οποία περιλαμβάνονται παιδιά και ξένους τουρίστες, εγκλωβίστηκε στον ανώτερο σταθμό του όρους Μόντε Μόρο σε υψόμετρο περίπου 2.800 μέτρων, σύμφωνα με ιταλικά μέσα ενημέρωσης.
