Vafeadis: New Incentives for Electric Vehicles Until 2030 - Updates on Tram and Paphos-Polis Road

The Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafeadis, presented the progress of the Ministry's policies and projects for 2025, focusing on electromobility, road projects, ports, airports, and public transport. The government's policy focuses on faster transportation, a green transition, better infrastructure, and improved citizen service. Regarding electromobility, a new grant scheme was announced, valid until 2030, as the transition to electric vehicles still requires state support due to the high cost. In 2025, approximately 2,500 grants totaling €21.5 million were awarded. The goal is to have around 85,000 electric vehicles on the roads by 2030, but this depends on international developments and prices. Additionally, progress was reported on major road projects, such as the Paphos-Polis road, as well as the upgrading of ports and airports.
