Law on Fireworks Passed as Step Towards Public Safety, Says Mining Ministry

The passage of the amendment to the Explosives Law by the House of Representatives is a significant step towards strengthening public safety and addressing the illegal use of fireworks. The amendment provides for a tenfold increase in fines for illegal use, with a maximum penalty of €50,000, and assigns the responsibility for inspections to the Chief of Police. The responsibility is also extended to event organizers and owners/managers of venues where fireworks are launched, with the aim of protecting citizens and animals.
