Ο Νικόλας Αιμιλίου εξελέγη νέος Κύπριος Δικαστής στο Ευρωπαϊκό Δικαστήριο Ανθρωπίνων Δικαιωμάτων, εξασφαλίζοντας 121 ψήφους κατά τη σχετική ψηφοφορία.
Στη διαδικασία συμμετείχαν επίσης η Νατάσα Μαυρονικόλα, η οποία έλαβε 26 ψήφους, και η Μαργαρίτα Παπαντωνίου με 5 ψήφους.
Σημειώνεται ότι ο Νικόλας Αιμιλίου υπηρετεί ως Γενικός Εισαγγελέας στο Δικαστήριο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης από τον Οκτώβριο του 2021.

Nicolas Emiliou has been elected as the new Cypriot Judge to the European Court of Human Rights, securing 121 votes. In the same process, Natasha Mavronikola received 26 votes and Margarita Papantoniou received 5 votes. Emiliou currently serves as Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Union since October 2021. His election marks Cyprus's presence in one of the most important courts for the protection of human rights in Europe.
