Andreas Karakatσανis is the New General Director of Larnaca 2030

Andreas Karakatσανis has been announced as the new General Director of the Larnaca 2030 Organization. The selection was made by the Organization's Board of Directors in a special session, taking into account his knowledge, experience, and institutional career. The Organization is in a transitional phase, moving from the campaign to claim the title to a more formal structure for implementing the program. Mr. Karakatσανis is a Civil Engineer, a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens and Carnegie-Mellon University. He served as Director of the Technical Services of the Municipality of Larnaca for 17 years and has represented the Municipality at international conferences. He has also worked at the British Government's Ministry of Defense and has been a Dale Carnegie Course instructor. Recently, he served as Deputy Director of the Larnaca Sewerage Council and as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI). Since January 2024, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Technological University of Cyprus (TEPAK) and was elected Vice-President, while since July 2025 he holds the position of President of the TEPAK Board of Directors. The appointment of Mr. Karakatσανis as General Director marks the beginning of a new phase for the Larnaca 2030 Organization, with the aim of effectively implementing the program and highlighting Larnaca as the European Capital of Culture in 2030.
