Cyprus National Guard Presents its Work at EU Military Committee Inauguration in Brussels

The Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Theodorou, presented the work and activities of the National Guard in Brussels, as part of the inauguration of the European Union (EU) Military Committee due to the Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council. Lieutenant General Theodorou emphasized the importance of strengthening the EU's defense capabilities and outlined the goals of the Cypriot Presidency for deepening the Common Security and Defense Policy. The presentation included audiovisual material highlighting the capabilities of the National Guard and its role in European strategic autonomy. The event marked a significant opportunity to enhance military cooperation between EU member states. Speeches were also delivered by the Chairman of the Military Committee, General Seán Clancy, and the Permanent Military Representative of Cyprus, Colonel (PG) Konstantinos Konstantinou. The speeches underscored the strategic importance of Cyprus in European defense.
