Attempted Murder in Tersefanou: Victim in Critical Condition with Mutilations – Woman Escapes

Police in Larnaca are investigating an attempted murder case with a 40-year-old victim. A 33-year-old has been arrested pursuant to a court warrant to assist in the investigation. According to the complaint, the 33-year-old broke into the apartment of the 40-year-old and a 46-year-old woman through the balcony door and attacked the 40-year-old with an axe, causing him serious injuries, including mutilations to his hands. The 33-year-old allegedly threatened the 46-year-old woman, who managed to escape and notify the police. The perpetrator fled the scene but was later located and arrested. The 40-year-old was initially taken to Larnaca General Hospital and then to Nicosia General Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. He has suffered the amputation of his left thumb, incomplete amputation of his right thumb and index finger, as well as multiple lacerations to his head, back and hands. The police investigation is ongoing in cooperation with the Kition Police Station, with the Larnaca TAE taking the lead. Authorities are seeking the perpetrator's motives and examining all possible connections to previous criminal incidents.
