Attempted Murder of 47-Year-Old: 22-Year-Old National Guard Contractor in Court Under Heavy Security – Faces Serious Charges

A 22-year-old National Guard contractor, accused of attempted murder against a 47-year-old, was brought before the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court under heavy security measures. The procedure for answering the charges was postponed as the defense attorney requested time to review the evidence. The accused faces serious charges, including attempted murder, conspiracy, illegal possession of weapons and explosives, and theft. A charge of conspiracy to commit murder was recently added, based on videos found on his mobile phone, allegedly showing him stalking the victim and recording his movements. According to the indictment, the 22-year-old conspired with an unknown accomplice to murder the 47-year-old, while his connection to the crime scene was confirmed through DNA. He was arrested in November 2025, and weapons, ammunition, masks, and mobile phones were found at his home, as well as a stolen motorcycle.
