Annie Alexoui Announces Appeal to European Court, Accuses Cypriot Government of Rights Violations

Annie Alexoui, also known as Ioanna Fotiou, announces her intention to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights, accusing the Cypriot government of violating her rights. She has already filed complaints with the Independent Authority for the Investigation of Allegations and Complaints against the Police, accompanied by audio and video evidence, as well as to the Human Rights Committee of the Parliament. Alexoui rejects the Ministry of Justice's proposal to send a delegation to Moscow to take a statement, believing that the Police has no jurisdiction in Russia and refusing to accept a suspension of the warrants. She accuses the authorities of treating her life as a “game”. She also reveals that material related to the case of the suspended Mayor of Paphos, Phaedon Phaedonos, came into the possession of the Police Headquarters and the Ministry of Justice without her consent, causing strong reactions. She intends to submit a written statement through a lawyer to initiate an investigation into the cases concerning her. She expresses complete distrust towards the Cypriot authorities, stating that Cyprus is no longer her home and prefers Russia, where she found help and self-confidence. She rules out any interest in understanding from low-ranking police officers and demands accountability from those in positions of responsibility.
