Property Scam in Occupied Territories: Two Defendants Plead Guilty – Pocketed €300,000

Two defendants have pleaded guilty to fraud related to the sale of properties in the occupied territories, admitting their charges and awaiting sentencing. The two women, aged 44 and 53, had deceived unsuspecting landowners with false promises of quick compensation and property sales, primarily in the Famagusta province. The 44-year-old pleaded guilty to 16 charges, while the 53-year-old pleaded guilty to two charges of fraud. The charges related to offenses committed between 2023 and 2025. The defendants had extorted approximately €300,000 from the complainants. The complainants, numbering over 18, had paid money for alleged appraisal and sales process expenses, either in cash or via the Revolut platform. The 44-year-old presented herself as a lawyer with connections in the occupied territories, while the 53-year-old claimed to have contacts with a Greek Cypriot investor. The admission of guilt led to the discontinuation of the remaining charges by the Prosecution Authority. The case reached the Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol, where the defendants changed their stance and admitted their charges.
