Larnaca's Satellite Infrastructure Upgraded with VertexRSI

The Larnaca Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP) has announced a further upgrade of its satellite infrastructure with the delivery and installation of two new 9-meter diameter VertexRSI Earth Station antennas at the Hellas‑Sat Kofinou Teleport in November 2025. The new antennas will enhance the capabilities of the telecommunications hub, offering higher accuracy, reliability, and flexibility for next-generation satellite services. The antennas support multiple frequency bands (C, Ku, Ka) for various applications, including television broadcasting and high-speed satellite internet. They are designed for continuous 24/7 operation and feature enhanced telemetry, tracking, and control (TT&C) services for both geostationary and non-geostationary satellites. This upgrade will support critical communications in various sectors, including government, defense, maritime, and aviation applications. Furthermore, it will establish Cyprus as a strategic hub for satellite communications in the Eastern Mediterranean, hosting international clients. ETAP Larnaca will also focus on improving accessibility to tourist sites, enhancing green spaces, and creating tourism clusters, such as the collaboration of the nine honey villages in the mountainous region of Larnaca. It will also address issues of beach erosion, such as that of Oroklini, and seek to resolve problems affecting tourism, such as road works and visual pollution.
