Michailidou: First Meetings Held for Teacher Evaluation System

The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michailidou, announced that the first meetings of the Monitoring Committee for the new teacher evaluation system have begun. The educational organizations have already submitted their proposals, which are being studied by the Ministry, with the aim of finalizing the evaluation criteria. At the same time, training sessions for educational officials regarding the new legislation on evaluation have started, which was passed by Parliament in December 2025. The training sessions are held in the mornings, so as not to disrupt the operation of schools, and are offered both in person and online. Ms. Michailidou emphasized that training is the first stage of implementing the new legislation and that more specific training will follow in the future. The goal is a smooth transition to the new evaluation system and to familiarize teachers with the new roles and requirements.
