Construction Material Prices to Rise by 1.3% in 2025

Construction material prices in Cyprus are expected to increase by 1.3% in 2025, according to data released by the Statistical Service. In December 2025, the Construction Materials Price Index reached 118.74 units (base 2021=100), marking a slight increase of 0.10% month-on-month and 1.54% year-on-year. The largest increases were recorded in minerals (3.38%), mineral products (2.62%), electromechanical goods (2.23%), and products from wood, insulation, chemicals, and plastics (1.33%). A small decrease was observed in metal products (-0.54%). Overall, for 2025, the index showed an increase of 1.30% compared to 2024. This increase is mainly due to the price increases of crushed sand for concrete (9.27%), marble (7.98%), crushed concrete for concrete (7.28%), iron railings (6.60%), cables (6.19%), thermal insulation (5.25%), and ready-mix concrete (4.14%). Conversely, the prices of some materials decreased compared to 2024, such as steel pipes (-7.61%), air conditioning units (-6.27%), lamps (-4.90%), structural mesh (-4.10%), construction iron (-3.67%), concrete and plaster additives (-3.29%), and construction steel (-2.89%).
