AKEL: Health First, Not Interests – Kettiros Expresses Serious Reservations About Imaging Centers

AKEL MP Nikos Kettiros expressed serious reservations about specific provisions of the bill concerning imaging centers, after the start of the article-by-article discussion in the Parliamentary Health Committee. A new text was submitted by the Ministry of Health, with some convergence between certain stakeholders, but also complaints from others who were not invited to the meetings. AKEL insists on the mandatory presence of a doctor during imaging examinations and expresses concern about potential financial interests influencing the regulations. Mr. Kettiros made it clear that the health of citizens is non-negotiable and that AKEL will not agree to any provision that jeopardizes their health, until all points are agreed upon.
