EU Parliament Strengthens Air Passenger Rights

Published January 27, 2026, 08:20

The European Parliament is defending the rights of air passengers, insisting on maintaining compensation for delays of more than three hours and its current amount. MEPs are also calling for the simplification of refund procedures, with pre-filled compensation and fare refund requests. Improvements have been made regarding the transport of carry-on luggage and the seating of passengers, such as parents with children and people with reduced mobility. The Parliament's position will be forwarded to the Council for approval, and in the event of disagreement, a conciliation committee will be convened.
