Syka Sues DISY Over Exclusion from Ballot

Nikos Syka has filed a lawsuit against DISY, challenging the party's decision to exclude him from the parliamentary election ballot. He is seeking a declaration that the decision of the Political Bureau is illegal and has applied for a temporary injunction to suspend the effect of the decision until the case is heard. The Court has scheduled a hearing on the application for Tuesday, February 17, where DISY is expected to oppose the issuance of a temporary injunction. If the party persists, a new date will be set for a hearing of both sides. Meanwhile, a criminal investigation is underway against Mr. Syka, following a complaint by his former partner for alleged violence in Athens. The file has been referred to the Legal Service for instructions, and offenses such as violence, psychological violence, bodily harm, and threats are being investigated. The lawsuit comes after DISY's decision to remove Mr. Syka from the ballot due to allegations of violence.
