Δεν θεωρεί σκόπιμο να εμπλακεί σε πολεμική σχετικά με την αυξανόμενη στρατιωτική δραστηριότητα στο νησί, προτεραιότητά τους είναι η ασφάλεια όχι μόνο των Τουρκοκυπρίων αλλά και των Ελληνοκυπρίων, αναφέρει σε ανάρτησή του ο Τουφάν Έρχιουρμαν.
Στην ανάρτησή του στα ΜΚΔ το μεσημέρι, μετά την παράνομη έλευση των έξι τουρκικών μαχητικών F16, στο παράνομο αεροδρόμιο Ερζιάν, ο κ. Έρχιουρμαν αναφέρει ότι ο κ. Χριστοδουλίδης, «ο οποίος εξηγεί την ανάπτυξη πολυάριθμων στρατιωτικών μέσων από πολλές χώρες στα νότια του νησιού ως ‘ανάγκη ασφαλείας’, αξιολόγησε την ανάπτυξη έξι μαχητικών αεροσκαφών F-16 και συστημάτων αεράμυνας από την Τουρκική Δημοκρατία για την ενίσχυση της ασφάλειας του Τουρκοκυπριακού λαού ως αντίδραση κατά της Ευρώπης».
Ο κ. Έρχιουμαν λέει ότι δεν θεωρεί σκόπιμο, «στο πλαίσιο της ευθύνης και της σοβαρότητας, να εμπλακούμε σε πολεμική για αυτά τα ζητήματα σε μια εποχή που ο κόσμος και η περιοχή είναι εξαιρετικά τεταμένες».
Θα έρθουν οι μέρες (ελπίζω πολύ σύντομα), συνεχίζει, «που θα συζητήσουμε λεπτομερώς τις εξελίξεις στο νησί λόγω του πολέμου, τους λόγους και τις συνέπειες των όσων έχουν συμβεί, και θα υπενθυμίσουμε σε όλους τις δηλώσεις και τις προειδοποιήσεις που έχουμε κάνει για αυτά τα ζητήματα εδώ και πολύ καιρό.
Μέχρι τότε, ισχυρίζεται, «προτεραιότητά μας είναι η ασφάλεια ολόκληρου του νησιού, όχι μόνο για τους Τουρκοκύπριους αλλά και για τους Ελληνοκύπριους».

Erhurman on Turkish F-16s: 'Goal is the security of both Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots'
