ETEK President Calls for Immediate Measures to Address Energy Costs

The President of ETEK, Konstantinos Konstantinou, is calling for immediate and relief measures to address the expected increase in energy costs. He believes that the proposed solutions for cheaper electricity require significant public investment, the cost of which will burden citizens. He proposes adjustments to the competitive electricity market to pass on some of the economic benefits from photovoltaic parks to consumers. In addition, he suggests the establishment of a mechanism to adjust the cost of carbon dioxide and a focus on energy efficiency. Finally, he calls on the state to show special care for vulnerable consumers and ensure transparency in the management of energy revenues.
